Every student once in his lifetime searches for world’s top colleges. I am one of them who love to explore the best things of the world. Therefore, I am here to share the world’s top 10 universities.

Many of you might be researching about colleges for your further studies, so this list might help you.

Living thousands of miles away, knowing the reputation of the institutions is not an easy task. We just have to either visit the place itself or have to take surveys with the help of the students, or we have to rely on the unknown reviews. At last, we end up making wrong decisions.

Therefore, I’ve prepared the list of top 10 best universities in the world, based on the different legit surveys taken by the World University Rankings and other.

1. Harvard University

Harvard University was established back in 1636. It is one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. To Study in Harvard is the dream of many students all over the world. Harvard University got its name on its first benefactor named John Harvard. It has $36.4 billion endowment and 210 acres of main campus.

The University of Cambridge also referred as Cambridge University, was established in the year 1209. It is world’s fourth oldest surviving university. It is one of the best universities in the world. This can also be understood by the fact, that Sir Issac Newton was the students of this university.

3. University of Oxford

University of Oxford

There is no exact foundation date known for the University of Oxford, but there is evidence of teaching in the year 1096. With these facts, we can assume it as one of the oldest universities in the world. It is world’s second oldest surviving University. It is so famous that I don’t feel the need of writing more about it here.

4. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

MIT is a private research university, which was established in 1861. Its campus is spread over 168 acres. It has the record of producing 81 Nobel laureates, 52 National Medal of Science recipients, 45 Rhodes Scholars, 38 MacArthur Fellows, 34 astronauts, and 2 Fields Medalists.

University of California, Berkeley

The University of California was established on March 23, 1868. It is basically a public research center. The Academic ranking of the World Universities (ARWU), ranks the University of California fourth in the world. More than 37,581 students have passed out from here.

6. Stanford University

Stanford University

Stanford University is one of the most prestigious universities in America. It has the record of highest admission in the year 2015. It is world’s 3rd richest university. It was established in the year 1885 by the railroad tycoon Mr. Leland Stanford in the memory of his only son, who died at the age of 16 years.

7. California University of Technology (Caltech)

California University of Technology (Caltech)

The California University of Technology abbreviated as Caltech, was founded in the year of 1891. The initial idea for the university was to be a preparatory and vocational school. But now, it holds a great position among the students when it comes to studying the technology. The university gives more emphasis on the study of science and engineering.

8. University of Chicago

University of Chicago

Chicago University is one of the most famous and known university in the world. That’s the reason; it is making to the list of World’s top 10 colleges. It has 211 acres of main campus. It has taught approx 14,954 students. Out of which, 5134 are undergraduates and 9,820 students are postgraduates.

Yale University

Yale University was founded in the year 1701, making it the third oldest university of US. It has an honor of teaching 12,223 students. Out of which 5,414 are undergraduate and 6,809 post graduates. Its Endowment is $23.9 billion, which is pretty high. One of the best and prestigious universities indeed.

10. Imperial College London

Imperial College London

Imperial College London is not a very old university, in fact; it was founded in 1907. It has the staff of 7,240 and 14,735 students. The university is a major biomedical research centre and formed the first academic health science centre in the United Kingdom.

Every year world university rankings change based on the students review and their academic performance. The above list specifies the list of top ten colleges and universities in the world. But, universities like Princeton University, University College London (UCL), Columbia University and many other are there, which hold the good position and are more like a dream come true for many students.
